2014 Expedite Expo is in the books!
Our 11th Expo and one of the most unique expo's yet.
We drove our 2012 Caffcadia with the
intentions of not bringing her home.
Everything inside out was spotless and we were living out of suitcase in
the hotel.
Our new truck was in the Team
Run Smart / Stoops Booth but is not complete and was not coming home with
us.
We had to catch a ride to get back
home.
We had not seen the sleeper of our new truck and we were very excited , we were not the only ones. Our phone rang off of the hook with the common question "Where the heck are you?" Once we arrived we hit the ground at a run and the first stop was the new truck. AJ, Bolt Custom Trucks who designed and created the interior of the sleeper was our guide.
This was AJ's first time to try a diamond tuck pattern and she out did herself. We have one small Mickey Mouse on the freezer door and then ten hidden Mickey's that I will not take pictures of. You have to see the sleeper to find the hidden Mickey's. Everything about our 2015 Cascadia Evolution inside and out is about having the best business partner possible.
We had a few walkers on our PJ walk each day and that is
always fun to walk and talk on this trip around the convention center.
This year the weather was perfect for the
walk.
This year TA/Petro loaded points
on each walker's Ultra One Fuel Card.
During the show we had people looking all over our truck as asking questions. Not having the freight box on gave other drivers a great chance to easily look at our wide base singles and disc brakes. There was also a lot of discussion about the double frame and of course the DT12 transmission.
We met lots of new people and also were able to catch up
with friends we have known for many years and who have influenced our
careers.
It is fun to talk about
expediting to people looking at joining the industry and then to turn around
and talk with drivers who have been expediters for many years.
The networking opportunities are
endless.
