Expedite Expo Day 2

We ended up with several walkers in all modes of dress!   Henry walked in his tie which caused a stir so early in the morning.   We had Steve Pollock, from Movin Out magazine, Ellen Voie, from Women in Trucking, Cindy Stowe, Convoy for a Cure, Dick McCorkle, Slice of Trucker Life Driver and various other drivers and vendors.   We walked around the Roberts Convention Center, Wilmington, OH enjoying the conversation during the walk amongst each other.

After the walk we all split up to attend to various duties.   We had workshops to attend, vendors to see, booths to attend, and catching up to do with old and new friends. It was time for the show to open.

Later in the day Bob and Henry attended the “Extending the Life of Your Truck“ Workshop given by Heath Woods, Middle Georgia Freightliner.   Bob and Henry helped Heath with new maintenance items and SCR (Selective Catalyst Reduction) and how it affects our trucking operations.  They also discussed getting the maximum return out of the investment you have in your truck. Ellen Voie’s workshop “Women in The Trucking Industry” was well attended.   I was on the panel with several outstanding professional women of the transportation sector.   The workshop was well attended by women and men.   Many items were discussed from safety on the road to ways to stay more secure in your cab at night. Next was an impromptu load securement workshop held on front of the convention center.   Bob, Nick Marcu, and Jeannie Silk used their trucks  and van to discuss different ways to secure loads.   Nick gave a great demonstration on how to load and secure freight in a van.   Bob, Henry and I had to run as we all attended the FedEx Custom Critical Contractor Dinner.

Henry was the motivation speaker this year and did a great job.   As soon as the dinner was over off we all went to the Casino Night sponsored by Commercial Insurance Solutions.

This event was well attended and the room was packed.   From the sounds of all the laughing and clapping going on there were several “BIG” winners.   By the time this event was over we were all exhausted!
